I’ve taken three trips to Europe—first to explore my Dutch roots, then to Italy, and most recently through Central Europe from Prague to Croatia. Each time, we’ve brought 15-17 family members, including our kids and their spouses. With 33 grandkids, I imagine they’ll be next.
In 1991, just a year after signing up for Gorilla Marketing, I made Stifel’s Presidents Council with a 300% increase in production. I’ve been on Stifel’s Chairman’s Council ever since 1994.”

Now our attention is on preparing for the next growth season. This is when it gets into more detail and additional formalization to systems and perpetual brand and marketing initiatives.

But I had a big problem. My response rate had fallen to .12%. That’s right. I sent out 10,000 invitations. 12 people responded. Bill said, “Send me your invitation.” I did.

The first seminar we did using our new seminar invitation, list and location pulled 84 people for the two events promoted by that mailing.
It was a Thursday night. A couple signed up at the seminar to meet with us the following day. The meeting went well and two days later on Monday they contacted us wanting to come in that same day. Monday afternoon they became clients with assets of over $1,250,000.
We have 15 more prospects that requested meetings. Thank you for the connection. The revenue from this account pays all our first year fees for the BGM System. These other 15 prospects will make that seminar extremely profitable.”

When he sat down, he pulled out the “Year in Review” letter. I had said in the letter to call or come by if he had questions, so here he was. We talked and he said that he’ll be moving about $1.6mm to me once he returns from a trip. Additionally, earlier today, another inherited client with a $26,000 account called in. I have had this account for almost 8 years, and I have faithfully sent monthly drip letters to her as well. When the client called, she told me that she and her husband needed to move all of their accounts from a competitor over to me.
This $26,000 client will end up being a total of 5 accounts with a combined balance of $1.27mm. I asked what prompted her to call me, and she said her husband had decided they needed to do something different, and they had recently received the “Year in Review” letter, so it seemed like the natural thing was to let me assist. Not bad for the price of a stamp, every month, for a few years’ time!
P.S. As an update, that last client I mentioned just called back and is planning to move an additional $2mm on top of the $1.27mm we’re moving today.”
